Officers and Executive Committee members oversee the day-to-day operations of the Association. They are elected from the membership at the annual state conference. Terms of office run from July 1 to June 30.

The only officer positions elected at the state conference are the Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. The Vice-President serves a one-year term in that position before serving as the President-elect the following year. The President-elect serves a one-year term in that position before serving as the President for the following year. The Secretary and Treasurer positions serve two year terms.

Executive Committee positions are elected on staggered basis to maintain continuity within the association leadership. Each year, four Executive Committee members are elected to two-year terms.

NGAWV also employs a part-time Executive Director to assist the association leadership in managing the day-to-day affairs of the organization. The Executive Director also serves as the principal lobbyist for the Association.
